Often our Nasson Bike Center participants will rebuild “community bikes”. Most of them will go to Spurwink Services, a social service agency to be given to deserving clients. Last week 10 bikes went to their office in Biddeford. By day’s end 4 were with families in York County. Below are some of the bikes I dropped off. The adult sized bikes are going to teenagers to use to get to work and school. Spurwink1.jpg

Jayden was able to rebuild this nice Hoffman BMX bike with a frame and parts donated by our volunteer Paul and parts Jayden had at home. We saw him riding through Carpentier Park the next day and the bike looked sweet!JaydenAug17

The Nasson Bike Center sponsored another successful summer bike ride season for the campers at the Sanford Junior High and High School. The Bike Center supplied bicycles, helmets and water bottles to any campers that needed them. We also led out the rides, assisted by volunteers and camp counselors. Campers rode the Mousam Way Trails and the Rail Trail. We were assisted this year by Jim from Fast and Happy Bicycles, a new local bike shop in Springvale. Below are images from the last ride on the Mousam Way as the boys took a break. The rides alternated between girls and boys each week.
